Pre-packing

Pre-packing…

Okay, I have looked at the various options available to pack up my life for 3 months. After doing so, I reviewed the content of my life-in-a-bag and realized that 8 pairs of shoes, 6 scarves, 4 tubes of lotion, and a sweater I have not worn since the purchase date of November 2005, are not considered necessities. Considering I am trying to pack my world up into ONE LARGE BAG for three months, (and a spiffy, yet versatile, purse) these, and a few other items needed to be deleted.

In with the socks and undies, out with the tanks and sun dresses. FYI, I’ll be leaving the winter of this continent to enter it in another.

So, in trying to minimize my backpacking load, and maximize my granola side, I have come to the conclusion that I’m only bringing the things I need. (Oh yeah, WAY easier said than done). And by this statement, I really mean, that 2 pairs of pants, 4 pairs of shoes, (including shower flip flops) 1 jacket, 1 dress, and some sun block is all I’m bringing. Okay yes, undergarments, shirts, a sweater (worn post Nov. 2005), swim suite, maybe some shampoo/conditioner in one stuff, perhaps a Tide Pen and Tobasco Sauce will be included to accompany me to Argentina; however, I never thought I would have to second guess parting with my mini red robe kimono for 3 months.

Question to self… Is it important enough to bring if it takes up potential space of new and "trendy-in-a-foreign-country" apparel?!?!? Cross that RIGHT off the list!

So, upon my entry to the southern hemisphere, I’ll be sure and reveal what truly made the cut and got packed and which items received the shaft and stayed behind in NM.

Until next time,

C
